Interesting to think about how our dreams are helping (?) To reset us. What is happening when we wake from anxiety dreams and nightmares?

Separately, the movement called The Nap Ministry... Rest as resistance is worth checking out. Thinking about all the ways our culture devalues sleep/rest and so forces people into patterns that don't allow for the reset you talk about here.

The question of anxiety dreams and nightmares is an interesting one to me. I experience these quite frequently. Dreaming, of course, only happens when you are on your way back to the conscious world, usually when your body is signaling that it's time to wake up soon. They happen when you are in transition, not when you are deeply sleeping. I find that the real messages from sleep come to me in conscious form after I've been awake for about a half hour. If I have the space to do so, this is when I "hear" messages that I try to write down as they so clearly come out of my night of rest. I love the nap ministry idea. Rest is truly revolutionary these days, I agree.
